Boardman CC Invitational

Boardman Spartan Invitational (click title for Baum's page results)

Overall, a very strong day for the Comets at Boardman.  Boardman always makes you earn it.  Saturday afternoon was no different.  Our goals going in were to measure ourselves against the following five teams in our region - Massilon Jackson, Glen Oak, North Canton Hoover, and Wooster. Out of that group we finished second to Massilon Jackson.  After defeating Glen Oak, North Canton, Hoover, and Wooster we cannot be ranked any lower than fifth in Northeast Ohio, we've defeated everyone else in our region (#1 Hudson, #2 St. Ignatius, #3 Jackson, #4 Kenston).  This is a great sign for our team.

We also defeated every team from our conference at the meet (Brunswick, Mentor, and Shaker Heights) for the fifth week in a row. Fantastic work!  The best part about last weekend?  We can still get a lot better.  Seriously.

On the varsity level we have not performed consistently at all this season.  Each week two or three guys have stepped up, one or two have run neutral, and two or three more have regressed.  Same story at Boardman.  Every other team in northeast Ohio is crossing their fingers that we do not put it all together on October 27th or November 3rd.  They are in trouble if we do.

As an entire program we all have room to grow in the mental aspect of our racing.  Our workouts indicate we are capable of much more than the way we are racing on Saturday's.  Think about your paces on Tuesday.  You are all capable of doing the math.  How does your Tuesday pace compare to your Saturday pace?
