Overall I thought we had a very solid day at the Kenston Invitational. We did not lose to anyone we should not have but we also did not elevate our game to defeat the two best teams at the meet. We came away with five season best performances and nine personal records.
Season bests (5): Anghad Dhillon (21:37.8), Logan Esper (16:36.8), Jonathan Gembarski (19:53.2), and Aden Pickus (17:20.0)
Personal records (9): Jay Akkul (30:09.4), Yash Kankariya (21:29.5), Daniel Messmer (22:19.3), Andrew Shao (26:44.3), Jack Williams (streak 2! - 23:35.7), Colin Wong (streak 2! - 19:12.1), Adam Yousef (streak 3! - 19:55.1), and Andy Yuan (streak 3! - 25:50.5)
Noteable: Kesav Kosana ran 22:02.7 within .1 of his PR!
Comet of the Week: Colin Wong (19:12.1) - Colin is off to a fantastic start to his freshman campaign. Colin has run a personal record time in each of his first three high school races. Colin took last week's race out aggressively from the starting gun. Right on time, Colin took the lead for the Comets halfway through the race and never looked back. He ran offensively, passing runner after runner, from the mile mark to the finish line and embraced being out of his comfort zone. Congratulations on a fabulous race Colin! Keep it up.
