Weekly Update for January 14 - Cases Ebbing

January 14, 2022

Dear Solon Schools Families and Staff,

As of today, we have 55 students and 3 staff members with confirmed cases of COVID-19 this week. Although still very high, our case totals appear to be ebbing. This mirrors the Northeast Ohio transmission and positivity rate case data we have received from the Ohio Department of Health. After weeks on the leading edge of the Omicron case surge, no Northeast Ohio county is in the top 25 in Ohio in transmission.

Heading into the 3-day weekend, we all still need to be vigilant. As a reminder:

  • Please continue to contact your building principal immediately if your child (or someone in your home) tests positive for COVID-19 or is awaiting results.
  • Students who test positive, are sick or are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 should not come to school.
  • Students who are awaiting test results should not come to school until they receive those results.

Click here to access our COVID-19 Dashboard, which is updated daily. The dashboard displays districtwide cumulative and weekly case counts as well as the number of students and staff members testing positive at each school.

2022-23 Solon Schools Calendar Approved

The Board of Education this week approved the district calendar for next school year. A copy of the calendar is attached. When looking ahead to next year’s calendar, please be sure to check your school-specific schedule for important dates such as mid-term and final exams before planning trips or other time out of school for students.

No School Monday

The Solon Schools are closed on Monday, January 17, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  Enjoy your long weekend.
