Weekly Update for December 3 - Testing
Since Monday, we have added 16 students and two staff members to our dashboard as positive cases of COVID-19. This is nearly identical to our numbers from last week.
Community spread in our area is still quite high, so it is important to seek out testing right away if you or your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
The Ohio Department of Health distributes free proctored at-home testing kits through local libraries, including our Solon library branch. These are the Abbott BinaxNow Home Test kits we are able to accept to confirm positive results. Demand for tests is currently high due to family holiday gatherings and travel, so it is advisable to call ahead to the library to confirm availability and pick-up procedures.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms or have been exposed and you are having difficulty obtaining a PCR test from a health care provider/pharmacy or finding an at-home proctored test, please contact us so we can help connect you with resources to get a test.
Vaccination Clinic Reminder
Some appointments are still available for the Solon student optional vaccination clinic at the Community Center on December 9. Family members or staff members seeking a booster dose may sign up as well.
Registration instructions were sent in last week’s message and are now posted on our district homepage: Solon Vaccination Clinic Information
Have a nice weekend.
