Comets Dominate in GCC Win over Elyria
It might have been a late afternoon game, but the Comets' offense was burning brighter than the sun at Elyria on Tuesday. The Solon Comets Varsity Boys Soccer team recorded their first win of the season in an 8-0 thrashing of the Elyria Pioneers in Greater Cleveland Conference league play today. The win was rookie Head Coach Ryan Greenhill's first for the Comets.
The Comets scored early and often with Junior Midfielder Pranav Iyer scoring one goal and assisting for another to earn Man of the Match honors. Joining Iyer were Freshman Midfielder Ethan Berkovitz with two goals and single goals from Senior Drake Perry, Senior Daniel Nemirovskiy, Sophomore Danny Myeroff, Sophomore Noah Broan, and Sophomore Noah Cieza. Senior Johnathan Margheret has three assists.
Senior Goalkeeper John Lombardo and Sophomore Goalkeeper Isaac Lieber split halves to earn the shutout.
The JV Comets' kept the scoring going in their game against the Pioneers, winning 10-0.
The Comets are on the road again on Saturday against Canton Jackson.
