Junior and Senior Blockout Lunch Preference
Dear Junior and Senior Families,
Returning to school this year will pose unique challenges for us at Solon High School. As we work to maximize space in the building and physical distance between students, we are changing procedures, protocols and even some aspects of our schedule.
For this year, all SHS students will have lunch during a new 35-minute 4C lunch period in their 5AB class. ALL students will eat in their 5AB classroom. To reduce numbers in the building, we are providing an additional option for junior and senior students who may have study hall 4AB and/or 5AB: BLOCKOUT study hall and lunch (during these two periods ONLY).
This means we are opening our campus for juniors and seniors who have a 4AB and/or 5AB study hall and allowing them to leave the building to go home for lunch since they will have an hour and 20 minute break mid-day with the combined lunch and study hall. Students must make a semester commitment to the blockout lunch. We will not be assigning them a seat for lunch in the building if they choose this option.
If students must take a test in the Test Center during their 4AB or 5AB study hall, they will be permitted to do so ONLY with a note from a teacher.
Students would be responsible for returning to school on time to begin their 5AB class if they leave for BLOCKOUT 4A or their 6th period class if they leave for BLOCKOUT 4C.
We are asking ALL juniors and seniors to complete this form at this time, as we are in the process of finalizing schedules for the 20-21 school year. Once we receive responses from all families, we will be able to update schedules to accurately reflect BLOCKOUT if your study hall falls during 4AB or 5AB.
