Please mark your calendars for the Freshman and New Student Orientation Program on Wednesday, August 14, in our auditorium. The program begins promptly at 9 a.m., so please plan to arrive by 8:45. The program concludes at 10:30 a.m. Dress is casual. Although parents are welcome to attend, this program is designed for students who will be starting at Solon High School this year.
During Orientation, most students will receive their 2019-20 class schedule and all students will go on a tour of the high school. (Some students who have recently registered may receive their class schedule after Orientation.) The Orientation program provides important information about procedures, clubs and activities. Students will have time to locate lockers and classes listed on their schedules.
Students may also visit Solon High School to find classrooms and familiarize themselves with the building on Monday and Tuesday, August 19 and 20, between noon and 3:30 p.m.
For student convenience, locks and agenda planner books are sold on Orientation day. Locks are $17 (cash only please). The planners are $8 and may be purchased with cash or a check made payable to Solon Academic Boosters. A list of school supplies needed for each class appears on the high school’s website.
The Comets’ Spirit Store will be open during the hours of the Orientation in pool/new gym area of the school. Solon Comets spirit wear may be purchased there with cash, credit card or check made payable to the Solon Athletic Boosters.
Students who are unable to attend Orientation will receive their schedule by mail. The schedules for any students not at Orientation will be mailed in the afternoon on August 14.
We look forward to seeing you in three weeks at SHS!
