Solon Middle School Schedules and Information

Solon Middle School Virtual Schedule Information 2020-2021

Hello again, Solon Middle School families! Teachers and staff members have been working diligently this week to prepare for our new school year. Please read through this schedule information carefully so that your child is prepared for the start of our school year, especially since we are starting the 1st quarter off virtually.

Solon Middle School Course Schedules

Your child’s course schedule and team assignment is now available by logging in to PowerSchool. We are not mailing schedules, so your child must log in to PowerSchool to obtain his or her schedule. Students use the same login to access PowerSchool that they use to log in to their Chromebooks or technology at school. Please contact Mrs. Ames (, our technology resource teacher, if your child has any login issues.

In order to log in to class the first day of school, students can find their Google Classroom class codes on their teachers’ webpages.

Because we are beginning the school year virtually, we will not assign lockers to students until we return to the building.

Schedule Information

School will begin virtually on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. Our student day begins with first period at 8:40 am and ends at 3:30 pm. Note that our virtual schedule incorporates longer breaks between class and a longer lunch than normal.

Schedule Changes

Please be aware that, since SMS staffing was based on placement requirements and parent requests (which were due by May 1), requests for schedule changes at this time will be honored only if an error on the schedule was made by the SMS office staff. Schedule requests for the addition of high school courses without meeting eligibility requirements, to be with friends, to switch teams, etc. will NOT be honored. Adding an 8th grade elective instead of study hall will be honored only if there is space in the class after all new students have been scheduled.

Students who need a schedule correction (due to school error) or who have questions should contact your school counselor (Mrs. Kelly Amstutz at for 7th grade students or Mrs. Wendy Dingman at for 8th grade students) with questions.

All fees should be paid at the beginning of the school year, even if a course does not begin until second semester.

You can access EZPay by going to the district website (, clicking on the Parent drop-down tab, and then clicking on EZPay. If you have never used EZPay before, simply complete the registration page and add your child’s name and six-digit ID number.
