COVID Protocols for 2022-23
As we started back to school for 2022-23, the CDC, the Ohio Department of Health and the Cuyahoga County Board all updated their COVID-19 guidance for K-12 schools. Our schools are following that guidance. We continue to monitor our case data, report positive cases to the CCBH as required and send classroom notifications to families to let them know of their child’s potential exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 so they can watch for symptoms. Each of these notifications asks families to keep their students home if they are ill or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and to notify the principal right away if their child tests positive.

Welcome Back Community Tailgate
A Welcome Back Tailgate community event is set for the first Comets home football game on August 26 from 5-7 p.m. behind the home stands on the west side of the Solon High School stadium parking lot. This is a great opportunity to connect with friends throughout the Solon Schools community. Organized by the Solon Council of PTAs, the event will also enable Solon Schools families to connect with other parent groups, including all school PTAs, Solon Music Parents, Solon Athletic Boosters, Solon Academic Boosters and Solon Early Childhood PTA. In addition to activities and face painting, families can get tailgate fare from any of the several food trucks that will be onsite for the event.

School Lunch Information for 2022-23
We have enjoyed serving meals at no cost to all students. However, current guidance from the USDA does not allow us to serve free meals to students in the 2022-23 school year without an approved 2022-23 Free & Reduced Lunch Application on file. Paid lunches will be $3.50 for grades K-6 and $3.75 for grades 7-12; reduced-price lunches are $0.40 for those who qualify. You are encouraged to fill out an online Free & Reduced Lunch Application for your family. Any Free or Reduced Lunch Applications approved during the 2021-22 school year will carry over into the 2022-23 school year for the first 30 days of school or until a new application is processed, whichever occurs first.
