  • Fill This House Fundraiser

Girl Up is partnering with Youth for Christ, Diversity Acceptance (DAPs), Random Acts of Kindness, and Key Club to raise money – for bus passes and supplies – and gather goods listed below to help kids who are aging out of foster care.

Oftentimes, these kids are kicked out of their foster homes when they turn 18. They are often still in school. Fill This House provides these kids with furnished apartments so they can finish school and go on to college, the workforce, or the military. These kids don’t have anyone to turn to and sometimes leave their foster homes with a small trash bag of personal items – a very dehumanizing experience. They rarely have ever owned anything new.

Please help us provide these kids with new household items so they can have a chance at a future. We ask that this year during your Black Friday shopping, you stop and pick up one of these items to donate. Collections will be taken during 1st period classes the entire week after Thanksgiving. Thank you, as always, for your support of SHS clubs and the community. We hope to pay our thanks forward this year!
