The Solon Schools annual Quality Profile is a comprehensive community-oriented companion report to the State of Ohio School Report Cards. The Quality Profile details additional accountability indicators that more completely define a high-quality public education.

Our mission calls for all stakeholders in the Solon Schools to ensure students attain the knowledge and skills to succeed and become contributing, ethical citizens in a global society. The Quality Profile illustrates how Solon students are meeting that bar with the help and encouragement of our staff, parents and the community.
Consistently ranked as one of the top public school systems in Ohio and the nation, the Solon City Schools provides its 4,500 students with a rigorous and comprehensive academic experience, complemented by an extensive array of opportunities in the arts, activities and athletics.
The Solon Schools were named the Public School District in America rankings for 2021 by the community and academic rating organization Niche.com.
The Solon Schools have received the #1 education ranking from Cleveland Magazine for an unprecedented 13 consecutive years.
The Solon Schools were named a Best Community for Music Education for 2021.
Solon High School was named to the U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings.
Demonstrating Solon students' success in AP science, math, engineering and computer science classes, Solon High School is among the top-ranked Ohio schools on the U.S. News Best STEM Schools list for 2021.
Solon High School has 34 National Merit Finalists and 16 National Merit Commended Scholars for 2021. With 50 students in the Class of 2022 honored by National Merit, Solon has the highest number of students recognized in Ohio.
Solon Middle School was named a U.S. Blue Ribbon School in 2020. All Solon Schools have earned this national honor from the U.S. Department of Education at least once.
Solon robust AP program saw 785 students take 1,760 AP exams in 2021. Students earned a score of 3, 4 or 5 on on 1,376 of those exams, earning students valuable college credits.
Solon students’ average ACT scores remained high for the Class of 2021 – Composite: 24.9, English: 24.3, Math: 25.2.
Solon students’ average SAT scores remained high for the Class of 2021 – ERW: 610, Math: 657.
Solon High School students can choose from more than 140 courses, including 27 different AP classes: AP Capstone, Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1 & 2, Comparative Government, Economics, European History, Psychology, U.S. Government, U.S. History, World History, English Language, English Literature, Calculus AB & BC, Computer Science, Computer Science Principles, Statistics, Chinese, French, Spanish, 2-D Design, Music Theory and Studio Art.
World languages offered – Spanish, French, Chinese and American Sign Language.
Three Solon seniors were U.S. Presidential Scholar candidates in 2021. (Solon High School Presidential Scholars: 1990, 1995, 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2012.)
