The Solon Schools were named among the top Public School Districts in America for 2022 by the community and academic rating organization Niche.com.
The Solon Schools received the #1 education ranking from Cleveland Magazine in 2022 for an unprecedented 14 consecutive years.
Solon High School is again among the top schools in Ohio and the nation according to the 2022 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings. SHS earned the top ranking in Northeast Ohio. Demonstrating Solon students’ success in AP science, math, engineering and computer science classes, SHS is on the U.S. News Best STEM Schools list.
Solon High School had 34 National Merit Finalists and 16 National Merit Commended Students for 2022. With 50 students honored by National Merit, Solon has among the highest number of students recognized in Ohio and the nation.
All Solon Schools are National Blue Ribbon Schools.
All Solon Schools received U.S.D.A. Bronze Awards for excellence in school nutrition and physical education.
Solon’s robust AP program saw 827 students take 1,788 AP exams in 2020. Students earned a score of 3, 4 or 5 on 1,064 of those exams, earning students valuable college credits.
Solon students’ average ACT scores remained high in 2020 – Composite: 24.9, English: 24.3, Math: 25.2.
Solon students’ average SAT scores remained high in 2020 – ERW: 625, Math: 668.
Solon High School students can choose from more than 140 courses, including 27 different AP classes: AP Capstone, Art History, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1 & 2, Comparative Government, Economics, European History, Psychology, U.S. Government, U.S. History, World History, English Language, English Literature, Calculus AB & BC, Computer Science, Computer Science Principles, Statistics, Chinese, French, Spanish, 2-D Design, Music Theory and Studio Art.
World languages offered – Spanish, French, Chinese and American Sign Language.
Solon High School Presidential Scholars: 1990, 1995, 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2012.
Money Magazine ranked Solon #10 on its 2015 list of Best Places to Live. These communities are “places with great jobs, strong economies, affordable homes, excellent schools and that something special that makes it a great place to live.
