Solon City Schools Earns Ohio's #1 Achievement Report Card

The entire Solon City Schools community is celebrating outstanding results on the 2025-26 Ohio School Report Card. Solon earned the state’s highest Performance Index score among traditional public school districts at 112.9, ranking No. 1 in Ohio for student achievement. The district also received an overall five-star rating, and every Solon school ranked among the state’s highest-achieving schools.

The Ohio School Report Cards evaluate districts using a star rating system across five key accountability measures including Achievement, Progress, Gap Closing, Graduation and Early Literacy as well as in College, Career, Workforce and Military Readiness.

"Results like these don't happen by accident. They are cultivated through a partnership between a strong community, great families and students, and a staff fully committed to our district mission," said Solon Schools Superintendent Fred Bolden. "This kind of achievement takes relentless effort and a willingness to put students' needs first, day in and day out. I'm incredibly proud of what our students and staff have accomplished."

The sustained high-level performance of Solon students reflects the district's commitment to educational excellence and continuous quality improvement. Even before today's report card release, district leadership had already begun reviewing performance data to identify where additional support could make the greatest difference for students.

"Our administrative team doesn't wait for a report card to tell us where to focus," Mr. Bolden said. "We had already been digging into our data, looking closely at where students are excelling and where we can adjust our instructional practices to help them reach their full potential. That ongoing work is part of how we sustain these excellent results."

Additionally, this year’s high report card marks underscore the strength of the district’s comprehensive strategic plan, Mr. Bolden explained. "The goals we set together with our community align with our mission - to help every student gain the knowledge and skills to thrive, and to grow into empathetic, ethical, contributing citizens - and are what drive us forward,” he said. “Our families and the Solon and Glenwillow communities are partners in this work, and the meaningful collaboration is what allows us to create an environment where every student can make progress and succeed."
