Registration Information

Before you begin, please refer to our Enrollment Guide for a registration checklist and tips for registering your child.

Before You Begin:

• The online registration should be completed by the custodial parent/guardian for school purposes.
• All required documents will need to be scanned and uploaded during the online registration process. (See “Tips for Scanning Documents” below.)
• Please be sure to have your driver’s license as well as your child’s original birth certificate and immunization records.
• Notarized residency affidavit with proof of residency is required.
• Notarized custody form (if applicable) is required.
• For the “Contacts” section of the registration, enter all parents/guardians AND at least two additional emergency contacts. Students will only be released to adults listed as emergency contacts in case of emergency. 

You must live in the city of Solon or the village of Glenwillow for your child to attend the Solon Schools.

If you are moving to Solon or Glenwillow, you may register your child for the Solon Schools as soon as you have a purchase agreement or a lease agreement for an apartment or a rental home. 

Please refer to the Enrollment Guide for a list of acceptable proofs of residency.

Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, students must be 5 years old on or before the first day of school for kindergarten students to be eligible for regular entrance into kindergarten in the Solon City Schools.  For 2026-27 in Solon, students must be 5 by August 21, 2026.

This change is the result of a new state law, House Bill 114, which changed how kindergarten eligibility is determined across the state. All Ohio districts must now follow a uniform age requirement based on the first day of school.  

Students who turn 5 after August 21 will be eligible for the early entrance assessment process in accordance with state laws and district policy. Information about the Early Entrance process is posted on the Kindergarten Registration Central Page.
