Kindergarten Registration
WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2025! Kindergarten in Solon Schools is at Lewis, Parkside and Roxbury Elementary Schools. All three schools have full-day kindergarten, but decisions about which school would have half-day sections and whether those sections will be in the morning or afternoon cannot be determined until after the kindergarten registration process is complete.
The Spring Kindergarten Registration is now closed. We still welcome registrations for Solon Kindergarten 2025-26 at any time. Please be aware that your child will not be guaranteed a spot at your home school. Students are added to any potential waitlist at your home school in the order that registrations are submitted with all required information, so we encourage you to register your child as soon as possible!

The Registration Tips & Checklist help you prepare and gather the documents you will need to upload during the online registration process. If your child's well child's visit is not until the summer, you can provide updated immunization records and medical forms at the start of school. Provide what you have now to give our district nurses as much information as possible at this time.
Tips for Online Registration & Registration Checklist
The health and medical forms are embedded in the online registration but you can use these links to down the forms. If you need to submit an action plan for your child for a specific health condition, please be sure that you get it signed by your child's physician or health care provider AFTER JULY 1 for the 2025-26 school year. Ohio law requires a new form for each school year and forms must be dated no earlier than July 1 of each new school year. You will turn in your action plans to the school office/school clinic at the beginning of the school year. The physical form and immunization records should be submitted now or as soon as possible before the start of the school year.

KINDERGARTEN INTEREST SURVEY & INFORMATION NIGHT FORM
District centralized online Kindergarten Registration - Monday, March 3, through Friday, March 14. Families must complete their child’s registration during the spring centralized registration window March 3-14 to be guaranteed kindergarten placement at their home school.
Kindergarten enrollment numbers are a key data point for appropriate planning and staffing next year, so it is critical that families register their students for kindergarten during the March registration window. Residents are urged to remind friends and neighbors who have students approaching kindergarten age to attend Kindergarten Information Night and register their students online March 3-14.
As a reminder, beginning with the 2025-26 school year, students must be 5 years old on or before August 1 to be eligible for regular entrance into kindergarten in the Solon City Schools. This change was adopted last year and based on several years of data collection and analysis.
Students who turn 5 after August 1 will be eligible for the early entrance assessment process in accordance with state laws and district policy. In rare instances, young children who are born after the deadline of August 1 are advanced in academic skills, personal development and emotional maturity. However, very few children who are referred for Early Entrance meet the rigorous entrance criteria. Families whose students turn 5 after August 1 are encouraged to make appropriate preschool/childcare accommodations for the 2025-26 school year and plan for their students to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2026.
- Students who are not 5 by August 1 miss the deadline for kindergarten entrance for 2025. To request Early Entrance assessment, families must submit the required Early Entrance Interest Form between March 1-31, 2025.
- Early entrance is a form of grade acceleration; families should consider how this decision will impact their child throughout the school experience. The Early Entrance assessment evaluates intellectual ability (IQ), kindergarten readiness skills and social and emotional maturity (attention span, independence, ability to follow directions, cooperation, ability to interact with others).
- The student must be enrolled through the online registration process. Families will need to use the Early Entrance Code EEK2526 to move through the age validator in the registration system. Registration must be completed and approved prior to May 1 for testing to be scheduled (submitted by March 14 for home school placement.)
