Kindergarten Registration

We welcome kindergarten registrations for the 2025-26 school year at any time. Please note that placement at your home school is not guaranteed.

Students are added to any potential home school waitlist in the order that completed registrations are submitted with all required information. To maximize your chances of home school placement, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

The Solon City School District centralized online Kindergarten Registration is open Monday, March 2, through Friday, March 13. The link to the online registration portal will go live on March 2 on the district website. Families must complete their child’s registration during the spring centralized registration window March 2-13 to be guaranteed kindergarten placement at their home school. 

Kindergarten enrollment numbers are a key data point for appropriate planning and staffing next year, so it is critical that families register their students for kindergarten during the March registration window. Residents are urged to remind friends and neighbors who have students approaching kindergarten age to attend Kindergarten Information Night and register their students online March 2-13.

If your student’s well-child visit is scheduled for summer, please upload current records now. Updated immunization records and medical forms can be provided at the start of school. Sharing what you have now helps district nurses prepare for the upcoming year.

Health and medical forms are embedded within the online registration system. You may also download the Solon Schools Health & Medical Forms for your convenience.

If your child requires an action plan for a specific health condition, please have it signed by your child’s physician or health care provider after July 1, 2026. Ohio law requires a new form each school year, dated no earlier than July 1. 

Action plans should be turned in to your school’s office or clinic at the beginning of the school year. Physical forms and immunization records should be submitted now or as soon as possible before the start of school.

Beginning with the 2026-27 school year, students must be 5 years old on or before the first day of school for kindergarten students to be eligible for regular entrance into kindergarten in the Solon City Schools.  For 2026-27 in Solon, students must be 5 by August 21, 2026.

This change is the result of a new state law, House Bill 114, which changed how kindergarten eligibility is determined across the state. All Ohio districts must now follow a uniform age requirement based on the first day of school.  

Students who turn 5 after August 21 will be eligible for the early entrance assessment process in accordance with state laws and district policy. (For more information, please refer to the Early Entrance Assessment process section below.)

Families will receive a link to the Bus Transportation Opt-In Form by email in May 2026. Families who need day care transportation before and after school must also complete the Day Care/Shared Parenting Transportation Request Form, which is due in July 2026. For more information, please visit the Transportation Department webpage.
