Power of the Pen
Power of the Pen is an interscholastic writing club. Students compete at the district, regional, and state level in creative writing. At the tournaments, students have to write a story in response to a prompt within 40 minutes and are judged on their creativity and overall quality of writing. Students at Solon Middle School may be a part of the club or try out for the competitive team. The teams consist of 6 seventh graders and 6 eighth graders. Practices are held weekly after school beginning in late October and the season runs until late May. Competitions are typically in February (District), March (Regional), and May (State).
8th Grade Power of the Pen meets after school on Mondays until 4:30 in room 225.
