|Solon Middle School is an excellent learning institution where students prepare to become productive citizens of our community and world. We work closely with our students and their families so they reach their full potential and achieve academically. Our environment encourages them to freely learn and grow as they prepare for the future.
Our school consists of approximately 800 seventh and eighth graders with diverse backgrounds. We provide strategic instruction through a variety of learning experiences to meet individual needs. Students take the core subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies), music courses (Choir, Band or Orchestra), world language (Chinese, French or Spanish), and varied experiential elective classes (Family/Consumer Science, Industrial Technology, Studio Art, Digital Art, Physical Education, Health, Financial Literacy, College and Career Readiness, and DARE). Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to produce well-rounded citizens.
Our outstanding faculty is committed to helping our students academically and socially. Lessons are targeted to meet learners’ individual needs and abilities. Our teachers have a rich understanding of their subject matter and use assessment data to determine the best way to help students learn. They care deeply for their students and will take extra time to assist them in a variety of ways.
Solon Middle School also offers a full complement of extra-curricular activities, including sports, music ensembles, academic organizations and clubs, through which students can develop their talents and passions. We encourage all students to participate in these activities as it encourages individual growth, teamwork, skill building and positive socialization.
