New Student Registration

  • The SHS counselors welcome you to Solon High School and wish you the best during your high school experience!  We are here to assist you with post-high school and career planning, course selection and scheduling, and academic and personal concerns.  It is important to remember that your academic performance and involvement in extra-curricular activities in ninth grade will affect your plans for the future.  We encourage you to make the most of your first year of high school to build a solid foundation for the rest of your time here.

Take the time to develop strong study skills and use all the supports available to you such as the writing lab, math lab and foreign language lab accessible in the Media Center.  Talk with your teachers if you have questions or problems in a class before you get behind.  Peer tutors are also available - see personnel in the media center.

Extracurricular activities are a great way to make new friends and get the most out of your high school years.  Be sure to check out the club fair booths in the cafeteria in September or access our website for a list of activities and advisor contact information – SEE THE SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR DIRECTIONS.  Try out a few activities that you may have never tried before.  Employers and Colleges look for students who are involved in activities they are passionate about, and those students who take leadership roles in clubs, athletics or volunteer work.

The SHS Counselors and Counseling Secretary are available to assist you with questions and concerns.  Please stop in the School Counseling Office before or after school or during lunch or study hall.  We want to help you get off to a good start and we wish you continued success for all of your years at Solon High School!
