• Student Award Nominations

    Each Award is described below with a link to a Google Form where you can nominate deserving students.  You may nominate as many students as you wish for each award.  There will be a maximum of 2 students per grade that may be selected to receive the award.  You must use your School Google Account to create the nomination.

    Nominations are Due: March 13 by 3:00 PM

     

    Perseverance Award

    Student has demonstrated a growth mindset, grit and resilience to face obstacles bravely and/or has overcome a personal challenge.

    Grade Level: 9-12

    Nomination: Can be nominated by staff member or another student

    Change Agent Award 

    Student recognizes a problem in the community and implements substantial change through the following:

    • Transformational leadership
    • Activist for social change
    • Makes an impact greater than his/herself

    Grade Level: 9-12

    Nomination: Student can be nominated by staff member or another student

    Community Service/Volunteerism 

    Student has made significant contributions to his/her community through his/her time, actions, talents, and dedication. He/she has a passion for helping others in his/her community. 

    Grade Level: 9-12

    Nomination/Criteria: Student completes self-nomination Must have completed a minimum of 40 hrs. of community service/volunteer hours in the current school year.

  • LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS

    All local scholarships for Seniors were posted on January 31 and can be found on the SHS web page under School Counseling/Financial Aid and Scholarships. Applications are due no later than Thursday, March 14 at 3:15 pm. No late submissions will be accepted.

  • FAFSA MEETINGS

    If your junior is planning on attending college after high school, now is the time to schedule a meeting with Valerie Harrell, SHS College Access Advisor. Mrs. Harrell can guide you through the financial aid process, help you complete the FAFSA/CSS Profile and discuss scholarship opportunities. Sign up for a one-on-one meeting on the SHS Counseling website.

  • AP EXAM FEES DUE

    Just a reminder that AP exam Fees must be paid in full by Friday, March 1. These fees can either be paid online or at the SHS Bookstore. If you have questions about your student's AP Exam fees, please contact Carol Schultz at 440-349-7312.
