Welcome to the
Orchard Middle School website! Orchard Middle School serves students
enrolled in grades 5 and 6. We have between 800-825 students.
The faculty and staff
at Orchard are dedicated to providing our students with a safe,
secure, and caring environment where the highest quality education
can be achieved. Orchard School is the bridge between the elementary
schools and Solon Middle School. It is our hope that students at
Orchard learn the value of making good decisions, continue to develop
into responsible boys and girls, and achieve academically at the
highest levels possible.
We believe that all students
can learn the necessary knowledge and skills that will enable them
to be successful citizens in our changing society. Our teachers
utilize the most effective research-based practices in instruction
to ensure that our students have access to the best possible opportunities
for learning.
We also believe that
parents play a critical role in the success of their children and
that the home/school partnership is the most important relationship
that can be established and maintained for children. This relationship
is strongest when it is struck between teacher and parent and it
is our strongest belief that we must all be involved in the education
of our Solon children.
This website is designed
to provide parents with some of the tools that can enable them to
become our partners in educating their children. We hope that you
will access the Orchard webpage and the webpages of your child’s
teachers on a regular basis to remain informed. It is also our hope
that you will use this information to support your child and his/her
teachers.
As we work together,
open communication is encouraged. We welcome your calls, questions,
and involvement in the education and life of your child at Orchard.
