Sports News 8/22/2010 Full Article Solon Lady Comets lose home opener 9/2/2010 The Solon lady Comets Volleyball Team fell to a very good visiting Elyria team on Tuesday. Come cheer the Comets on to victory as they travel to Twinsburg on Tues. Sept. 7th at 7pm. Then they return home to face Medina on Wed. Sept. 8th at 6pm. Sweet Victory Over Rival Twinsburg! 9/1/2010 Fighting every step of the way, the Solon Lady Comets shut out the Twinsburg Tigers 3 to 0. This marks the second straight shutout and victory for the team. The Lady Comets controlled the entire match and did not let Twinsburg have any notable attacks. The first goal was struck by Andrea Akromas (assisted by Maddie Kresevic) giving the Comets a 1 to 0 lead in the first half. Second half goal Mens Soccer Now 3-0; Clean Sweep of Mentor 9/1/2010 The men’s varsity soccer team is now 3-0 after a victory Saturday night at Lakewood 1-0 and winning the home opener against Mentor 3-0. At Lakewood, Greg Kachele converted on a PK for the only scoring of the contest. The JV White team also beat Lakewood 4-0. For the home opener, all three Comet teams won their games. JV Blue won 5-0, JV White won 3-1, and Varsity won 3-0.
