Virtual Biome Field Trip

Introduction:

Not everyone in Solon has had the opportunity to be a world traveler. Your task is to “take us away” on a virtual field trip to one of the biomes of the world. Your creative team’s (of three) goal is to create an informative power point presentation explaining the different aspects of a particular biome. You are to select a specific location (city) within the biome you are assigned.

Requirements:

A) Title Slide

Pictures (including your own “personal” virtual biome trip logo, group members pictures, and a scene from your biome) group member names indicating which project part each completed.

B) Location/terrain (1-2 slides)

Pictures (terrain, map showing global location), bulleted description, any other distinguishing characteristics of the location/terrain.

C) Climate (2-3 slides)

Climatograph of yearly temperature and precipitation patterns, severe weather seasons (i.e. hurricanes, monsoons, etc.), any other distinguishing characteristics of the climate.

Photo/illustration of things to include in your luggage to visit this biome.

D) Plant life (3 or more slides)

Common names of the various plant life forms, minimum of 3 (i.e. maple, pine, fern, palm,etc.), special features/adaptations of the plant life that enable them to survive in that biome, must include picture of each plant.

E) Animal life (3 or more slides)

Common names of the various animal life, special features/adaptations of the animal life that enable them to survive in that biome, must include picture of each animal.

F) Culture/lifestyle of the people (3 or more slides)

Dress, food, customs, music, housing, recreational activities, include pictures. Must include appropriate audio clip to support this part of project.
