Essentials SS-- Read chapter 3 -- Recycle! Worked on answering questions about nonfiction text.

Essentials LA-- Writing day. Students worked on finishing research for their disease projects, and began composing powerpoints with teacher assistance.

End-of-year DRA's are beginning to be administered to students this week.

Students in guided reading groups should be finished with chapter 6 by tomorrow!

Grade 7 Math- Guided practice with solving inequalities.  We learned that if we are mutliplying or dividing "x" by a negative number we need to "flip the inequality" at the end to make it true.

HW-- practice page, solve two inequalities.

Grade 8 Math-- Notes and guided practice-- scale factor relationships.  Two similar figures will have a relationship, or ratio, between corresponding sides.  That same ratio can be used to describe their perimeters!

HW-- guided practice page-- find the missing side length, find and compare the perimeters of similar triangles.

Essentials SS-- no meeting today.

Essentials LA-- Writing day.  Students completed the writing of their power point research projects and began working on design: transitions, layouts, photos, etc.  Individual conferencing with teacher.  Many students worked on DRA assessments.

Grade 7 Math-- Students learned and practiced the formulas for area and circumference of a circle.

HW-- Area and circumference packet-- Stars only (4 problems) and be sure to bring packet back tomorrow!

Grade 8 Math- Students learned about a special application of similar figures-- triangulation.  We practiced several real world problem solving examples.

HW-- review page over similar figures.  Quiz tomorrow.  If you are stuck on tonight's HW, please come in at 8am with questions!
